Hawthorn Construction Group is a leading national retirement development and construction firm. This diverse company is vertically integrated with in-house departments responsible for execution of the company’s activities including, property acquisition and development, financing, and construction management services. Responsibilities Assists Construction Manager with coordinating trade partners and consultants; inspects work and materials. Monitors contract adherence and provides input on trade partner selection. ACM will be responsible for the general performance and progress of the construction project. Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications. Be an active and hands-on leader of the job-site construction team on a daily basis. Should have the ability to constantly walk the job daily, monitor construction progress, and verify material deliveries as necessary; elevate areas of concern to the Construction Manager. Coordinate, schedule, and accompany city, utility, and third party inspectors. Plan and direct all site operations to meet quality standards and scheduling requirements. Be a representative of the company to all involved parties including subcontractors, vendors and government authorities. Take ownership over a clean, organized, and safe job-site on a daily basis. Should be willing to relocate to different project site area Ability to understand and implement a safety program conforming to OSHA requirements. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, conditions may include inclement weather or jobsite conditions, ability to climb ladders and be comfortable with heights and around construction equipment. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and hold for an extended period of time. Must have the physical ability to walk a minimum of 5 miles daily on the project site and climb multiple flights of stairs throughout the day. Qualifications High School Diploma, College coursework in Construction Management preferred. Minimum 2 years construction experience with some supervisory or project oversight experience preferred. Understanding of commercial construction processes, work sequence, scheduling, and building codes. Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans, scopes of work, community features, and Buyer option selections. High level of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Excel capability. Problem and conflict resolution skills, ability to prioritize work tasks, and teamwork and customer satisfaction orientation is required.
