We are currently looking for a Whole Car Processor to join our team. Job Summary: Whole car processors are primarily responsible for the processing of all incoming scrap vehicles, including drainage of fluids, search for prohibited items, and other tasks to prepare vehicle for automobile shredder Duties & Responsibilities: o Ensure a safe work environment for self and others at all times o Communicate with yard personnel o Keep whole car processing area clean, well-organized, and safe o Verify VIN against customer paperwork o Identify, communicate to scale buyers, and remove any “add-on” items, including catalytic converters, batteries, and wheels o Remove and properly store mercury switches o Drain all fluids o Search car for any prohibited items o Remove tires Physical Demands: • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms • Able to talk and hear • Standing, sitting, walking, squatting, bending, lifting, reaching, and grasping • Dexterity of hands and fingers • Lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet • Work outside in all elements Qualifications: • Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications • High school diploma or GED • Ability to work outside • Experience in scrap yard preferred but not required • Self-motivated and eager to learn • Ability to adhere to work schedule and arrive on time • Reliable – good attendance is required Benefits: • State of Oregon sick pay – up to 40 hours/per year after 90 days • Paid holidays after 90 days • Paid vacation • Health insurance • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • 401k • Annual $200 safety footwear reimbursement after 90 days • Room for advancement Starting pay $16/hr - review after 90 days Full time position at 40 hours per week
