Maintenance Technician

The Academy is a retirement community with 54 residences in the beautiful Chautauqua neighborhood. We are looking to add a Maintenance Technician to our team at 30-32 hours per week. As the Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for the following: - Perform strenuous work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions including snow removal and lawn mowing. - Painting, both touch up and extensive - Utilize tools and equipment safely including hand tools, hand mower, long-handled tools, paint sprayer applicators. - Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed, including lubrication, sharpening of blades, etc. - Operate The Academy’s pickup truck in a safe manner while on Academy business. Must have a valid drivers license, pass a MVR background check, and must show proof of automobile insurance. - Assist with resident moves as needed. - Move furniture and other large objects as needed. We are looking for someone who is willing to work as a team member, can follow written and verbal instructions, and is able to communicate clearly and effectively. Candidate must be self motivated and able to function independently. Works well and patiently with older adults, respecting their needs, deficits, and dignity.
