It really is true and that is that I am too much a gear guy. When it comes to things that I obsess about it is the kinds of gear I have for all kinds of tasks. My garage is separated into very specific tascs and tool that fill each one of them. The same goes for all my hiking and hunting gear. It is all very specific and luckily some of the items are interchangeable between them.  Gear is something that I love to obsess about because I am able to search for the best item for the best task and I love it. The same goes for ostomy gear as well. I think that it is simply silly to settle for less when you can have more for the same or less cost. But I didn't start off by being great, I ended up learning from time and experience. That experience also did not just come from myself and that part is very important. When it comes to 2020 we have so much knowledge available to us in order to find the best it is important to rely on others to help increase our perfection of gear. So when it comes to certain tasks I like to be the best and that means having the right items. If you are going hiking I think that the best gear can help your experience. This goes from having a backpack that fits your body well. When you have a stoma this is incredibly important. You may be able to use a hip belt on a backpack and be able to transfer the weight of it to your hips. If you have a stoma in a position that does not allow this then you need to get creative and find the best gear for your body.  That is key and you body is going to be different than other peoples. For this task, then I would look for an ultra-light backpacking backpack. This means that you should try and use only lightweight gear as well. You can increase the joy of your trip by taking gear that won't strain your back due to the inability to use a hip belt. This is done by ultra light backpackers who don't even have stomas. You can learn from them and create an amazing hiking or even backpacking kit to enjoy the great outdoors with. If you need some tips on this I suggest going on Youtube. There are so many channels that focus on ultra light backpacking or hiking with a stoma. These channels can really help you narrow down the gear that will take your hike to a new level. Don't worry about your stoma, because you can get the right gear to make your experience perfect without your stoma hindering it at all.  To me there is nothing better than that. There are so many people willing to share everything from the ostomy bags they use to the backpacks they have stopped using. Notice what they are not using and why. That in many cases is more important than what works for them now. You may be the complete opposite but all information is useful in this arena. So be wise, learn all you can and go out and get the best stoma gear for your situation. Check out stoma supplies on Amazon:  https://amzn.to/3cI4uGG
