She went on to attend lessons from Sensei Elinore Yard, a Master of Ikebana Ohara School, and become a member of the Traverse City Ikebana International Chapter (where she also served two terms as President) and Naples Florida Chapter. Mary has studied Ikenobo lessons with visiting professors from Japan and has attained certifications of Instructor of Ikebana and Assistant Professor of Ikebana, issued by Ikebana International of Tokyo.
