Description

Looking for auto tech with excellent electrical debugging skills to isolate issue on 06 Dodge Grand Caravan, SXT 3.8L Car is driveable but currently wireless door locks, heat, AC, dash lights do not work. ABS and Brake warning lights stay on. BCM has recently been changed out as the symptoms pointed to that being the issue. But problem still persists so it appears to be an issue somewhere else on the PCI bus. Most likely ABS module. The control modules on the single wire PCI communication bus in this vehicle are seen below. A short in one of the modules, a bad ground, or a 12v short to ground can bring down the bus or part of the bus so one half may still fuction. Some modules like left sliding door do work so the chance that there is a complete bus failure seems to be low. Please reply with estimate if interested and if - you have full function ODBII scanner to read errors from modules on PCI bus - can find and read wiring diagrams to check connectors for good power and ground signals to determine if it is a bad module problem or wiring problem with corrosion in connector. Control modules on PCI bus include: - Body Control Module - Front Control Module - Occupant Restraint Controller - Occupant Classification Module - Controller Antilock Brake (MK20E) - Antilock Brake Module (MK25E) - Powertrain Control Module (Gas) - Transmission Control Module (Diesel Auto Only) - Engine Control Module (Diesel) - Radio - Amplifier - CD Changer - DVD/CD Changer - Hands Free Module - Automatic Temperature Control Module - A/C Heater Control Module (MTC) - Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM) - Memory Seat/Mirror/Adjustable Pedals Module (MSMAPM) - Overhead Console - Mechanical Instrument Cluster - Left Sliding Door Control Module - Right Sliding Door Control Module - Thatcham Alarm Module (Export) - Power Liftgate Module - Park Assist Module
