Description

The general plant laborer assists with all activities associated with the industrial metal recycling business. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Loading and unloading materials from trucks including weighing in of material and proper logging of those weights • Rotating material from metal containers to gaylord boxes using a forklift • Running and maintaining the separation equipment for mixed aluminum/steel turnings • Running and maintaining a metal centrifuge for moisture removal • Assist with day-to-day forklift and skid loader maintenance • Sweeping of all areas to prevent contamination of designated metals in an area • Store and track equipment and supplies • Building and facility maintenance • Communication to management and other staff • Other duties as directed by management QUALIFICATIONS • We train you for forklift certifications if you don't have one but it is required • Ability to identify primary metals that come in to the warehouse (steel, aluminum, brass, etc) • Mathematical aptitude to record metal weights • Communicate verbally effectively • Establish and maintain effective work relationships with co-workers • Follow instructions with minimal supervision and be able to change direction at a moment’s notice • Team oriented with excellent organizational skills • Confidentiality and discretion with information Submit resume to: [email protected].
