Wastewater Plant Operator Water Management; South Durham Water Reclamation Facility Grade B22: Hiring Range: $43,302.00 - $50,643.00 We seek energetic individuals who model good work ethic, and team attitude to join our staff of operators at South Durham WRF. This role monitors plant operations by physical observation of plant processes; sampling units to ensure proper operation; maintaining accurate records; cleaning and calibrating process meters; monitoring chemical feeds and making process adjustments as needed. Checks equipment and makes adjustments as necessary. May monitor and operate remote facilities related to the wastewater collection system. Additionally, this role will include the operation of the dewatering equipment. This is a trainee position. Once certification is obtained, you will receive a promotion. Certification must be obtained within one year after employment has started. This job is subject to recall for weather-related emergencies. You must also be willing to be in an on-call rotation. Requirements: • HS Diploma or GED equivalent • NC Class “C” Driver’s License • Minimum 6 months of related experience including internships and/or vocational education in water/wastewater treatment Preferred: • One or more related years of experience • Basic math & chemistry calculations to accurately read meters & charts, maintain required records, & interpret readings to make necessary adjustments to treatment processes • Make mixed arithmetic calculations involving multiplication, addition, subtraction, & division of whole numbers, decimals, & fractions Enjoy our benefits that include 401(k), 457, retirement, flex spending accounts, medical, life, dental, vision, generous annual/holiday leave with options to purchase other benefits such as auto or legal coverage.
