Flood of Misinformation

Description

It's amazing how much misinformation is spread in this country and so many people are willing to accept it as fact without doing any fact checking. One mentioned recently by people that know better is the lie that America was independent of oil importation until Joe Biden won the election. Then all of a sudden we started importing oil again. Easily checked fact that shows we've been importing oil for decades with out interruption. Another one is the Keystone Pipeline would solve high oil prices -- totally untrue and easily checked. Oil companies set the cost of oil which affects the cost at the pump. Doesn't matter which party is in power - Republican or Democratic -- the President has NO control over oil prices. Too many people believe anything some people say. The Pandemic is another example of tons of misinformation being spread. Instead of believing reliable sources -- a lot of people believed the quacks in society. Unknown numbers of people died believing the lies about covid. Fact checking in the computer age isn't that hard to do but too many people are too lazy to do it. It's easier to listen to uninformed people that are scammers than actually look things up. Scammers are just that - they can sell the most outrageous things to gullible people.
