The Bel-Air Bay Club is a private club situated on the picturesque Santa Monica Bay in Pacific Palisades, California since 1927. We are seeking a candidate who can contribute their best to members, guests and staff in a collegiate team environment. This position will provide cleaning and maintenance Maintenance responsibilities at the Lower Club on the Beach and ensure that overall cleanliness, care and maintenance of the Lower Club is met. Some experience in a custodial or cleaning role will be required. The schedule is from Sunday-Thursday from 11:30am - 8:00pm with Fridays and Saturdays off! Specific Duties: Pick up all dishes, glasses, utensils on the patio, family dining area, terrace, bar, and along the sidewalk in front of cabanas left out from the night before. Blow the sidewalks, PT courts, and parking lot. Replenish PT courts with drinking cups and fresh towels throughout day. Pick up, sweep and mop gym floor each morning. Return all soiled towels to laundry for washing. Empty all trashcans and replace with new liner. Pickup all trash from parking lot. Assist members with chairs & umbrellas. Clean all bbq grills from previous day. Maintain the employee dining area. Put fresh linen on tables every day. Replenish ice containers on daily basis. Stock with pitchers and ice buckets. Assist members with chairs & umbrellas on beach. Set Santa Rosa Room for yoga and reset tables after class. Wash down PT courts when needed. Anything else the Lower Club Manager deems necessary to accomplish the overall goals of the club. This job may require bending, stooping, squatting, heaving lifting, and long periods of standing. Qualifications: At least 2 years of previous custodial and/or housekeeping experience is required. Ability to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms is required High level of professional appearance and demeanor Excellent Customer Service skills required Ability to follow directions well, use sound judgment and stay organized High School diploma or equivalent Hours: This is a full-time position from Sunday - Thursday from 11:30am – 8:00pm. This schedule may change by season or Club business demands. Physical demands and work environment: Able to walk and stand for long hours, bending lifting and reaching over. Ability to use hands, fingers, handles or feels objects, tools or controls. Ability to reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk and hear. Occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Satisfactory auditory abilities are required. Environmental Factors The employee is exposed to working indoors and outdoors around normal, high and cold temperatures with normal or above normal noise levels.
