MARINA DEL REY, CA — With coronavirus restrictions loosening, business is slowly returning to normal in Los Angeles County and Marina del Rey. However, the number of local coronavirus cases and deaths continue to rise. On Tuesday, health officials reported 2,364 new cases across the county along with 34 more deaths and a total of 1,515 hospitalizations. Though the county has seen an uptick in hospitalizations, the recent averages of between 1,350 and 1,450 are still below the pandemic peaks of more than 1,900. There are 20 reported cases in Marina del Rey and one reported death, according to Los Angeles County health officials Wednesday. The virus is surging statewide, with Los Angeles County leading the way with more than 86,000 confirmed cases while recording its largest single-day increase in cases on Monday. The state has recorded nearly 185,000 confirmed cases, and 5,566 deaths.
