Forge Carpentry Apprenticeship About Us Forge (www.forgeco.com) is a startup based in the Greater Boston Area. We are rethinking the skilled trades, an industry that has barely changed in the last 100 years. Hiring contractors to do even simple residential projects is a frustrating process of trial and error. A primary cause of this is the shortage of skilled tradespeople in the U.S. — the result of long-term trends that have pushed younger workers away from blue collar jobs. At Forge, we are focused on building the next generation of trades professionals. We believe more skilled workers, enabled by modern technology, will power a wholly new (and vastly improved) customer experience for all. About The Program Our apprenticeship is a paid 12-week entry level program targeted at people looking to start their career in a skilled trade. Learn via a combination of classroom and workshop instruction as well as riding along with seasoned pros on real jobs. The program is both full time and paid, and open to those with entry-level experience. Our curriculum covers the basics of carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical -- we aim for this early exposure to help you find your passion and set up your future career as a Forge Pro. A full time position as part of the Forge team will be offered to individuals who complete the program successfully. **Next Class: April 4, 2022, with several classes following throughout the year in June, August, October and so on. About You -Natural curiosity to tinker with, fix, and build things -Excited to begin a career outside an office setting -Vocational training or experience in maintenance or construction is a plus -Able to commute to our workshop in Newton, MA -Legally able to work in the U.S., submit to a criminal background check, present a valid drivers license and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon employment.
