Join us to commemorate the victims of the Atlanta spa shootings and anti-Asian violence as well as celebrate AAPI diversity and resilience
RSVP ONLY - SPACES ARE LIMITED
Hosted by activist and speaker Charlotte Nguyễn and comedian Bert Hung, "A Moment to Remember" is a space for collective healing -- to grieve those we have lost to anti-Asian hate, and to celebrate AAPI excellence. This is a safe place for members of the queer AAPI community and allies to convene in remembrance of those lost to unnecessary hate. This is also a celebratory space to connect and spread joy in solidarity towards a brighter tomorrow.
DJ Yi Chen will be spinning beats to carry us through a line-up that includes:
Space for grief and healing led by Charlotte
A self-defense demonstration by Ansa Woo
Dance by Flora Cheng, Reese Fernandez, and friends
Poetry by Gina Dang
Music by Rafaella Angelica
Drag by Lea Salonganisa
Comedy by Michelle Tuan, Allen Cao, Calvin Chan , and Parnell Piano
Brought to you by Phoenix Burning, the event will be filmed as part of a documentary about healing from systemic oppression. Donations will be graciously accepted to support the production of both this event and our film. Photos and videos will be taken at this event.
COVID-19 Protocol: Proof of vaccination or negative PCR test within 48 hours of the event will be required. This is an indoor/outdoor event, so please have a mask handy for your safety and that of those around you while moving through the indoor space.
Parking: Sadie's Pole Studio's discreet location has a parking lot with a few spaces, so plan to arrive early if you want a spot! Once that lot fills, you can park in the lot of the adjacent strip mall on Inglewood Ave. and Manhattan Beach Blvd.
