MARINA DEL REY, CA — Five people were rescued Friday night near Marina del Rey's breakwater when a 24-foot boat capsized Friday evening near Marina Del Rey's breakwater, but no one was injured.
The boat capsized about 9:20 p.m., according to Dispatch Supervisor Martin Rangel of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The five people on the boat were safe on the breakwater when rescue units arrived.
County fire crews were working to tow the boat to shore, Rangel said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies arrived in their boat to help in the rescue, according to media reports.
