DEL REY, CA — One firefighter was injured while battling an apartment fire in Del Rey Tuesday afternoon, officials said. No other injuries were reported.
The apartment fire was reported at 2:58 p.m. at 12610 W. Braddock Dr. and firefighters knocked down the flames by 4:55 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
"After the fire was knocked down, a firefighter injury was reported," Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. "One LAFD member was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening burn injury."
There were 26 firefighters battling the fire that started at one unit of a three-story apartment building that has two residential floors over one level of parking.
It's unclear how the fire started.
"The fire billowed smoke into neighboring apartments, while consuming a lower unit, and damaging others," Bronwyn Major told Patch via email.
