MARINA DEL REY, CA — A DUI, driver's license checkpoint is scheduled for Friday night in Marina del Rey, officials announced.
The checkpoint will be at Lincoln Boulevard and Maxella Avenue from 8 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday.
"Sobriety Checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests," LAPD said in a news release. "Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and checking drivers for proper licensing."
Funding for the checkpoints and saturation patrol is provided to the LAPD by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
