Description

Join Botanist Peter Warner and Ranger Jill on this guided tour of the wildflowers at the Estero Americano Coast Preserve SPACE IS LIMITED TO 25 PEOPLE Witness the spring bloom at the Estero Americano Preserve! The Estero Americano Coast Preserve encompasses the southernmost rolling hills and coastal prairie along the Sonoma Coast. In Spring the verdant grasslands bubble over with the colors of the many and varied wildflowers native to these lands. Long-time Sonoma County botanist Peter Warner will be leading us 3.5 miles through the fields, out to the bluffs, and into the hills, stopping often to learn about the flowers we pass. There are no trails, and the ground is uneven. Supportive footwear is recommended. We will break along the way for lunch - please pack enough food and water for the entire outing. Participants will meet The Wildlands Conservancy staff at 132 Bodega Lane, in the town of Bodega. From there we will caravan to the Preserve, about a 15 minute drive away. We will need to pare down to 7 vehicles - please be prepared to either park your vehicle in Bodega for the day or to share the ride with others from the group. Please meet us at 9:15 so we can sign waivers, introduce our selves, and be on our way promptly at 9:30.
