LINDENHURST, NY — Long Islanders have spoken: The Lindenhurst Diner, located at 195 E Montauk Hwy, has been voted "Best Diner on Long Island" for the fourth consecutive year, according to the Best of Long Island contest. According to its description, the diner offers a variety of food for every dietary need. "Fans rave about their scrumptious full vegan menu that knocks the socks off the local competition with cheesy apps and entrees," the diner's site states. For dinner, diners have their pick from specialty burgers to frothy shakes served in mason jars. "There aren't many things Long Islanders love more than a good diner," the eatery's description stated. "And there aren't many diners they love more than Lindenhurst." The diner was also voted "Best Coffee Cake on Long Island" for the second year in a row, "Best Dessert Place", "Best Dinner Deal", and "Best Pancakes." According to an interview with Restaurant Hunter, the diner first opened in 1954, but has been in its current location since 1967. The Lindenhurst diner currently offers dine-in, curbside pickup, delivery, and takeout.
