Please contact 213-400-4265 to RSVP We wouldn't need to think deeply about anything if our days were filled with only good things. When we draft the blueprint of our lives, we typically plan for school, a job, and eventually a family. But no one includes plans to get cancer or to suddenly get laid off. Who would include "get robbed" into their plans, let alone "get divorced?" Yet, we get ambushed and that's when it gets complicated. So, where do we find the strength to overcome these things as they happen? When we encounter problems that prove too difficult for us to handle, the only thing we attempt to do is escape them as quickly as possible-the reason for that is an unawareness of the clear route to overcoming them. That said, these problems become very trivial when we learn about the world of the heart and how to maneuver through it. As students, it is important to learn about grammar, math, etc., but learning how to govern our hearts is much more important and should be our top priority. Unfortunately, many people are uninterested in governing our hearts. That is why we hear about accomplished people losing control of a single desire or emotion, encountering problems, and destroying everything they worked so hard for. We can learn how to navigate through suffering and despair to live bright and happy lives through mind education, which is the systematic study of the world of the heart.
