MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Roundhouse Aquarium, which had recently announced protocols to deal with COVID-19 and an online reservation system, is going dark thanks to the most recent order from California State Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles County. "We are saddened to announce that we must again close our doors to the public, effective immediately," Roundhouse wrote in am email. "Due to the restrictions and guidelines announced by the state and county today [Wednesday, July 1], we will be unable to open to the public for at least 3 weeks, starting tomorrow, July 2nd. We are so sorry for the inconvenience. "We enjoyed sharing our love of the ocean with those of you who were able to visit today, and will let you know when we are able to open again. While we are closed, we will continue to do our best to educate and inspire ocean lovers and future scientists through social media and virtual programs." Roundhouse Aquarium, free to the public with donations welcomed, is located at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier. The most recent order by the Department of Public health in Los Angeles County followed up on Gov. Newsom's order today to close indoor dining inside restaurants, as well as museums.
