DANVERS, MA — A National Grid gas main replacement project expected to last up to six weeks will begin on Cabot Road and Little Drive in Danvers on Monday. The work is in preparation for the water main replacement expected to start in April on Little Drive and June or July on Cabot Road. National Grid said the work on Cabot Road will take place from Chestnut Street to Coolidge Road and will last about six weeks. Gas work on Little Drive is expected to take about two weeks. Construction will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. "National Grid will work with the Danvers Police Department, to determine the best possible ways to get traffic through the work zone during working hours," the utility company said. "Due to the nature of this type of construction, you may experience some temporary inconveniences such as traffic delays, detours, noise, dust." National Grid asks that residents traveling through the area be prepared to encounter construction equipment and possible delays. Those with questions about the work can call Courtney Donaher, National Grid Senior Supervisor, at 508-431-5602.
