MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A man posing as an immigration officer and bilking people of "thousands of dollars" has been arrested and charged in Mercer County, authorities said. On Jan. 21, several residents of Hamilton Township reported that a man, known only as "Dill" was posing as a United States Federal Immigration Officer. He promised to expedite matters related to their citizenship status, Hamilton police said. After an investigation, "Dill" was found to be Leroy Quammie of Philadelphia, PA. Quammie turned himself in on Wednesday. He has been charged with one count of theft and deception and one count of attempted theft by deception, police said. Quammie is currently lodged at the Mercer County Corrections Center. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information on Quammie can contact Det.
