LEVITTOWN, PA — Kids in the Levittown area will soon have a new place to play. Playpad Bucks, an indoor children's play space and party center, is scheduled to open Sept. 1 at 860 Town Center Dr. in Langhorne. Designed for children up to 8 years old, Playpad is owed by Stephanie Rubin, a Richboro resident whose family also owns Party Fair in Newtown. A mother of three, Rubin said she wants to offer a space that will bring outdoor-style play indoors. The space will include the "My Town" area, a multi-level indoor playground and toys such as trains, blocks and ride-ons. There will be a designated baby/toddler area and a sensory room, designed to provide an inclusive play experience, which will be available for private rental. Parental supervision will be required and snacks, water, juice and coffee will be available for purchase. Outside food will be allowed, but it is a nut-free facility. "It is our mission to provide a fun indoor alternative to playground play, but to also serve as alocation where parents can be together to share experiences," Rubin said. "We forsee Playpad to be a meeting ground for parents clubs and educational classes such as music, story time, mommyand me yoga, and social skills. We will offer themed craft and event days for children andparents to particiate in." Rubin said Playpad will be open to the public for open play from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. Weekends will be open to the public from 9-11 a.m., followed by hours for private parties. Various birthday party packages will be available, she said. Like all businesses, Playpad will be taking extra health precautions due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rubin said. "Obviously, during a pandemic is not ideal, but we are optimistic that our opening plan and regulations we have put in place will cater to parents who want to give their children the opportunity to come play," she said.
