We are a 36-year-old Oakland general contractor specializing in historic and high-end construction projects and we are seeking a Rock Star Project Manager to join our team. The Lead Carpenter Work with bags on while serving as lead on the project, managing crew, and handling project momentum to ensure that job is moving forward as per construction schedule. Position Details for Lead Carpenter: • Interpret plans/prints/construction documents. • Perform rough and finish carpentry. • Compile two-day advance material / equipment list to ensure project momentum stays on track. • Must have 3 + years (or more) of experience in the construction industry as a Lead Carpenter • Must possess tools, transportation and a valid CA driver's license • Knowledge and understanding of California building codes and building inspection requirements • Familiarity with and responsibility for OSHA safety requirements, on-site safety, and cleanliness • Ability to understand and communicate the project's scope of work, and timeline with crew, and adapt to changing deadlines • Budgeting and cost knowledge; ability to monitor actual vs. estimate data progress • Provide excellent customer service, and great communication skills with client, crew, office, estimator, subcontractors, vendors, etc. Key duties and responsibilities: • Tool roll out and setup • Material Preparation • Rough framing & general carpentry • Job site cleanup and organization. • Digging • Interior Trim • Siding • Hauling debris, site cleaning & organizing work sites • Supply pick-up, delivery & material handling Requirements: • 3+ years construction experience • Tools, transportation, and a valid CA driver’s license • MUST be reliable and on time to work • MUST have the ability to plan, organize, schedule, prioritize, and take direction • Willingness to learn and grow • Good communication skills • Ability to provide outstanding customer service • Professional attitude and appearance • Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 60+ lbs.
