FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — The township building in Falls will be closed to the public and available only by appointment through January, officials announced Tuesday. The announcement follows a similar move from Bucks County officials and comes as coronavirus cases, deaths and hospitalizations are surging locally and across the nation. The Falls Township closure is through Jan. 18, officials said. For appointments, measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 will be in place, including mask requirements and social distancing, according to officials. No one with symptoms of the coronavirus will be allowed inside the township building. No one who has been in close contact with anyone known or suspected of having the virus should make an appointment. Thanksgiving week saw a record surge in new COVID-19 cases in Bucks County and the most deaths from the virus since the end of May, according to state health officials. The Bucks County Department of Health reported 23 deaths from the coronavirus between Nov. 16-28, along with 2,417 new cases, an average of 345 every day.
