Why not enjoy both at the same time? We will be meeting in Kalamazoo and driving up to the Pere Marquette River. This is the perfect opportunity to get out on the water during the day with some like-minded veterans and chill out by the campfire at night...followed by MORE surfing the next day! Not only will you be surfing with your comrades, but you’ll also have the chance to try out the E-foil which is a new technology that is quickly gaining popularity. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity! This is an overnight camping surf expedition on the Pere Marquette River. This session will involve packing our camping gear on our SUP boards and paddling downriver and fly fishing for salmon. We will be setting up a base camp along the river and surfing the coast. This is an intermediate skill level stand-up paddle (SUP). Meeting location The 8th district court parking lot across the street from Bronson Park in Kalamazoo, MI. Meeting time 4 pm We will carpool from Kalamazoo to the Pere Marquette River, which will be a 2 1/2 hour drive. Day 1 6 am - Wake up7 am - Breakfast8 am - On the river 8 am -12 pm - Float on SUP boards and fish12 pm - Lunch1 pm - 5 pm - Float on SUP boards and fish6 pm - Setup camp 7 pm - Bonfire chill Day 2 6 am - Wake up7 am - Breakfast8 am - Pack up gear8 am -12 pm - SUP down river1 pm - ExtractWeather Backup If the water is flat we will paddle along the coast or out west, if the waves are pumping then we'll surf the coast.
