LA GRANGE, IL — La Grange experienced 100 more coronavirus cases in the last week, according to the Cook County Public Health Department. That represented a 10 percent weekly increase, with the village passing the 1,000 mark in cases. As of Sunday, La Grange, including La Grange Highlands, had 1,063 virus cases. Until the last month, La Grange had been seeing weekly increases of 3 percent to 5 percent for more than a month. Since early October, La Grange's cases have more than doubled. The number of those who have recovered is unavailable. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, the number of coronavirus-related deaths in La Grange is 18, with the latest ones Nov. 9, Oct. 30, Oct. 17, Sept. 4 and Aug. 27. All the local deaths have been those who were 68 or older, according to the medical examiner.
