LIVERMORE, CA — A crash between a semi truck and a box truck on westbound I-580 in Livermore Thursday morning started a fire, and had "diesel going everywhere," according to the CHP log. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. The crash was reported around 7:35 a.m. and at one point blocked all lanes near Airway Boulevard. The CHP issued a sig-alert just after 8:00 a.m. The morning commute was already challenging after a 5-vehicle crash blocked multiple lanes in Pleasanton. That crash was cleared around 8:00 a.m. The diesel fuel took a significant amount of time to clean up. Reports indicated a tow truck got to the scene at 8:45 a.m. CHP changed the alert from a traffic collision with unknown injuries to a traffic collision with minor injuries at 9:35 a.m. Traffic appeared to be moving slowly at 9:47 a.m.
