The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters Office will be hosting two voter education webinars next week about the Voter's Choice Act election model going into effect in Sonoma County this year. The Mar. 15 webinar will address issues of concern to voters with disabilities, and the Mar. 17 webinar will touch on issues of concern to voters with limited English proficiency. While the webinars will be immediately relevant to the Apr. 12 special Town Council election in Windsor, all Sonoma County residents are encouraged to attend and learn about your options for when and how you cast your vote. (Press Release Desk) Last night, Sonoma County held a virtual town hall meeting about drought conditions in the Russian River watershed. Sonoma Water has described this as the third-driest water year on record for the county, which has put Sonoma in the "extreme drought" category. This means the county is at greater risk for year-round fires and inadequate water supplies for agriculture, urban needs, and wildlife. Moderated by Supervisor and Sonoma Water Director David Rabbitt, the panel featured members of the California State Water Resources Control Board, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the California Department of Water Resources, Santa Rosa Water, and the Sonoma County Farm Bureau. The group discussed drought forecasts, water conservation, impacts, and water use restrictions. (Patch) Healdsburg is in for mild temperatures and a mix of clouds and sun this weekend.
