STEGER, IL — Two men were stabbed Tuesday night in a fight that began inside the Glass Tap bar and grill in Steger, police told Patch.
Officers responded to a call at the 3329 Chicago Road location at around 9:15 p.m. Tuesday and found "four to five people fighting" in the parking lot outside the bar, Steger Police Chief Greg Smith said.
Police said the fight began as a verbal argument inside the bar and spilled out to the parking lot but was escalated when Joshua Deshazo, a 35-year-old from Crown Point, pulled out a knife and stabbed two people.
Smith said one man had a stab wound to his shoulder and the other had a cut on his head. Both men were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Deshazo is now facing two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to police.
Smith said both men were treated and released from the hospital. Officers have been called to Glass Tap Tavern for disturbances in the past.
