Water Main Break Near Thirsty Beaver Impacts Plaza Midwood

CHARLOTTE, NC — A water main break is impacting traffic in Plaza Midwood, according to Charlotte Water. The break is on Central Avenue (1200 block, between Hawthorn Lane and Lamar Ave.) That's near the Thirsty Beaver. As a result, two lanes have been closed since early Thursday morning. Charlotte Water suggests using Parkwood Ave or 7th Street as an alternate route around the traffic. Charlotte Water will repair the water main through at least the afternoon hours, according to their follow-up tweet.
