Our firm is seeking a motivated individual that is ready to hit the ground running and provide facility support to our customer, the Department of the Interior. This is a full-time W-2 position that requires a clean background check and a valid Alaska Driver’s License.
The ideal candidate will know how to operate a pickup truck with a snowplow, forklift, scissor lift, bead blasters, floor scrubbers, lawn mowers, and/or snow removal equipment. Additional duties of the position are seen below:
• Loading and unloading trucks, moving parts, equipment, and supplies by hand or with various moving devices (e.g., dollies and/or hand trucks and/or forklift)
• Sweeping and cleaning hangar floors to maintain a clean and hazard free work environment
• Washing and cleaning equipment/equipment components and assisting mechanics with simple minor tasks after receiving specific instruction (e.g., holding flashlights, handing hand tools, washing parts).
• Conducting supply pickups at various vendors in the local area, utilizing a Government vehicle on public roads.
• Replacing light bulbs and installing emergency light batteries
• Painting and installing signs
• Light carpentry work
• Repairing fencing
• Sweeping sand off ramps
• Removing spider webs on building exterior
• Pouring water down drains weekly
• Checking emergency eyewash and showers and other building and grounds maintenance task as assigned.
• Mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, ice and snow removal, snow shoveling and parking lot sanding and salting, and occasional operation of light pickup truck with snowplow, and other building and grounds maintenance task as assigned
