LA GRANGE, IL — In the last few days, La Grange police have handled cases involving a DUI suspect nearly hitting a squad car, motor oil poured over vehicles, porch piracy, fraud and a hospital theft, according to reports. Here is information from the reports: Alysse Johnson, 29, of Racine, Wis., was arrested about 1 a.m. Nov. 21 on charges of DUI (drugs), driving on the wrong side of the road, use of unsafe tires, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, no passenger side mirror and defective windshield. According to a police report, a traffic stop was conducted after Johnson almost struck a police car while driving in the wrong lane. Someone poured motor oil over three cars Wednesday in the 700 block of South La Grange Road. A garage door also was covered in motor oil. An HP laptop computer and docking station were stolen from an office on Nov. 19 or Nov. 20 at the hospital in La Grange, 5101 Willow Springs Road. A TV valued at $200 was stolen from a porch after it was delivered Tuesday in the 10 block of Dover Place.About $75 was stolen from a laundry room Wednesday in the 1000 block of Seventh Avenue. A laundry machine and two bicycles were damaged. Someone poured paint on two antique bicycles about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Seventh Avenue. A house in the 900 block of South Spring Avenue was egged overnight Wednesday. A resident in the 600 block of Seventh Avenue informed police Nov. 22 about receiving notifications about credit inquiries from three different car loan companies, cable service being discontinued and restarted, and a credit application made with Nordstrom's, all without approval or request. No financial loss was reported. A resident in the 300 block of South Waiola Avenue reported Monday that someone made $400 in purchases on the resident's debit card without permission. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
