Local technology company in the transportation sector is looking for 5 full time Material Handlers to join the team! Pay: $20.00/hour Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm Summary: This position will performing the physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing of products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. This position will primarily be responsible for the physical tasks involved in shipping and preparing products for shipping at the end of the production line. This includes placing products into the correct containers per company guidelines and preparing them for shipment using different equipment. This position will also ensure shipping containers are clean and prepared properly prior to placing products in them. This position may at times assist in the unpacking & checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices & maintaining records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Other duties may include assisting the Shipping & Receiving Clerk in pulling and filling orders. The position may also require the use of (but not limited to) power equipment such as pallet jacks, hand tools, and other devices operated in the warehouse environment. Additional duties may include examining stock and distributing materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines as well as at times preparing and kitting packages for assembly production. Process all items to be shipped, as well as assisting in those coming to the warehouse, following company procedures. 2. Assist in organizing shipping materials according to company procedures and alert supervisor when materials are running low. 3. Prepare materials needed to support the production lines and warehouse areas. 4. Choose the right packaging for each item according to company procedures for each item. 5. Lift heavy boxes and store them in designated areas 6. Assemble boxes and place proper packing materials into each according to item requirements. 7. Follow safety rules in picking, packing, packaging and shipping. 8. Assist at times in the instruction of new employees on proper packing procedures according to company policy 9. Participate the preparation of and actual process of physical inventory counts 10. Prepare and package all shipments. This includes wrapping product in cardboard, weighing, tagging and organizing pallets. Must understand and be to palletize products for shipment. 11. Safely and efficiently operate a pallet jack and other hand tools. 12. Keep work area and warehouse clean and safe 13. Assist fellow staff in a courteous and professional manner 14. Assist in loading and unloading Tractor/Trailers and delivery vans. 15. Maintains a positive and proactive attitude at all times. 16. Performs all other relevant duties and assignments as directed by Production Supervisor or Director of Manufacturing. Technical Skills Required: 1. Able to stand for an extended period of time. 2. Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 65lbs. 3. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent bending, stooping and twisting at the waist. 4. Willingness to wear personal protective equipment. 5. Sufficient visual acuity to inspect and assemble components. 6. Self-starter with a good attitude and able to work as a team member. 7. Possess good housekeeping skills to avoid creating an unsafe work area and environment. *Physical Demands:* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must have sufficient physical strength necessary to regularly lift and carry 65lbs. 4. The employee must have sufficient physical strength and manual dexterity to use manual tools (at times with both hands simultaneously) to assemble components and final assemblies. 5.
