Press release from The La Grange Business Association: Oct. 21, 2020 'Tis the season for holiday magic – and this year is no exception. The Village of La Grange and the La Grange Business Association (LGBA) are ramping up excitement with spectacular illumination plus in-person and virtual holiday activities for families to enjoy safely. For seven weeks, La Grange will support its small businesses by creating "must see" photo opportunities, transforming storefronts with themed window displays and providing engaging holiday experiences in a promotional campaign called "La Grange Delivers Holiday Wishes" presented by Dubak Electrical Group. "This year has brought its own unique set of challenges for our local retailers and restaurants who have been hit hard by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic," said Village of La Grange President Mark Kuchler. "As the holidays are quickly approaching, La Grange is providing safe experiences for families and robust opportunities for customers to shop remotely or in person. Supporting our community and our businesses has never been more important as we continue to offer new and exciting programs for everyone to celebrate this holiday season in La Grange." The expanded lights displays are designed to attract additional pedestrian traffic and showcase the Village as a must-see holiday destination. New: La Grange Virtual Tree Lighting on November 28, 2020 – 5:00 pm Kicking off the holiday season earlier this year, business and civic leaders will participate in a Facebook livestream of the lighting of the traditional La Grange tree. The special window scenes will be unveiled on Small Business Saturday, November 28. Santa Arrives to the Village on Saturday, December 5, 2020 The jolly fellow will tour the business district and wave to visitors from atop a firetruck before arriving to the tented drive-by Santa window at FNBC Bank & Trust for meet and greets. Princess Elsa & Olaf, characters from "Frozen," will greet passersby from outside the decorated Stone Avenue Train Station. And there will be photo opportunities at two Selfies with Elfies face in-the-hole board locations in the Central Business District. "The very unique small businesses of La Grange are what make the Village such a vibrant and delightful destination, especially during the holiday season," said Joseph Kroc, Board President of the La Grange Business Association. "La Grange delivers unique experiences all year long, but this year in particular, we're delivering holiday magic… and can't we all use some more of that?" he said.
