Hi, We met at the Microphones show this past Tuesday, the 8th. We chatted for a little while, you told me about how you just had a baby 3 months ago and that you were going to NYU for a masters in midwifery. I told you about how I was a philosophy PhD student. You shared some a pot cookie your mom had made for you. Then after the show we parted ways. You were going to the F I was going to the R. I hope you're doing well, it was nice talking to you. It was such a strange but nice encounter. It felt surreal, as if we were never supposed to meet. Two people in different worlds just existing for a moment in the same place and trying to share what they can of their lives, in acknowledgment of one another's existence, of which only now appears to the other as so full and complicated. It was nice to share that moment with you and that amazing show. I didn't get to ask you what you thought of the performance. Part of me wanted to ask for your number, but I didn't want you to think that I was trying anything romantic, and that's not what i'm interested in. I'm in a loving relationship myself, and I assume, although I never asked explicitly, given the baby thing, you are as well. I would love to chat again though, if you ever have the time between going to school, working, and being a mother. All the best, a passing friend.
