We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, organized, and efficient Heavy Equipment Mechanic who enjoys a variety of responsibilities and accepts new challenges head on. Summary of Duties: Repairs and overhauls semi-tractor/trailers and other heavy equipment by performing the following duties. Essential Job Functions: • Examines semi-tractor/trailers and heavy equipment and discusses with internal customers on extent of damage or malfunction. • Plans work procedure and utilizes appropriate tools to complete repairs. • Must be able to diagnose and repair a variety of heavy earthmoving equipment, including hydraulic excavators, loaders, skid steers and semi-tractor/trailers. • Ability to use a cutting torch and welder proficiently. • Maintain inventory and order parts as needed. • Prepare accurate inspection and service reports and maintain other records as required. Keep work area clean and orderly. • Routine servicing and overhauling of all diesel engines. • Ensure the proper handling of all testing and repair tools. • Removes units such as engine, transmission, or differential. • Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications • 4 -5 years heavy equipment and semi-tractor/trailer repair experience required. • A valid driver’s license is required.
