Lower Bucks Outlaws Seek Help After Vandalism Spree

CROYDON, PA — The athletic association that sponsors the Lower Bucks Outlaws is raising money for a security system after a spate of vandalism at its complex in Croydon. The Lower Bucks County Athletic Association's fields and facilities, at 1900 Summit Ave., sit next to an elementary school and in the heart of a residential neighborhood. But, officials say, they have been targeted by a wave of graffiti and other vandalism since the beginning of the coronavirus shutdown. The association, which sponsors the Lower Bucks Outlaws baseball, softball and football leagues, has started an online fundraiser to help pay for a security system that would let them remotely monitor the complex, provide extra lighting and capture images for police to use. Much of the graffiti has been offensive and racist, officials say. One of the images shared on the group's GoFundMe page shows a crudely drawn swastika. An equipment shed was broken into and damaged twice, fires have been set in trash cans, a football goal post was broken and other items were damaged. Officials say they have contacted police about the vandalism, but without security images or other evidence, they don't have much to go on.
