Description

MIDDLETOWN, PA — Emergency crews from around the Levittown area came together Friday to help save a dog who had fallen into a groundhog hole and gotten stuck. Crews were called shortly before 11 a.m. Friday to the Lakeview Estates neighborhood in north Middletown. There, they learned that Coco had been outside when she ran into the groundhog hole, fell about four feet and got stuck. The team that responded included members of Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company, Middletown Township Police, Bucks County Public Works and Middletown Fire and Emergency Management. To get to Coco, they had to dig holes around the stuck pup as well as cut thick roots out of the way to get to her. After about 45 minutes of work, Coco was freed. She was taken to the vet to be treated for her injuries and, by Friday afternoon, she was home resting and recovering. "Thanks to all that came together to help free Coco!" the Langhorne-Middletown fire company said in a Facebook post.
