JOLIET, IL — The Will County Health Department has announced that more than 400 people have died from the coronavirus since March. On Friday, the county confirmed that two more Will County residents died from the illness, bringing Will County's death toll to 401. Will County has had 15,323 cases of the coronavirus so far this year.
The two latest fatalities included a man in his 60s and a man in his 90s. The number of deaths is nearly the same between men and women. A total of 202 Will County men have died and 199 women have died since the county began tracking the illness in March.
The overwhelming majority of people in Will County dying from the coronavirus are in their 70s as well as their 80s, the data shows.
