LANGHORNE, PA — With winter on its way, a pair of Levittown-area businesses are teaming up to help folks who need a hand staying warm this year. Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint, in Middletown Township, and Odd Logic Brewing Company, in Bristol Borough, are donating proceeds this month to help heat the homes of local families in need. They're teaming up with Big Oak Fuel to identify families that need help. Jay's is donating 5 percent of sales this month to the cause and Odd Logic is donating 25 cents from every pint sold. "There's really no easier way to help our neighbors than getting a fresh cheesesteak and enjoying it with a beer," said Jay Green, owner of Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint. "Fill your belly and help your neighbors. There's a greater need than ever before this year." Last year, Jay's and its customers raised $3,000 to heat local homes with more 1,500 gallons of heating oil. The shop has been active in other charity work as well and, since 2014, has helped buy roughly 68,000 pounds of food for those in need. The shop's pretzel rolls are always a charity boon, with 25 cents from each sale going to food banks in Lower Bucks County. "Jay and I are both super active in our communities with various charitable efforts, so it was a no-brainer to join forcesvto help heat some homes this winter, as well donate to the local food banks," said Tim Shaw," owner of Odd Logic Brewing Company. Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint is located at 1205 Highland Ave. in Parkland (in the Langhorne area). The shop's food truck will be set up at Odd Logic Brewing Company, at 500 Bristol Pike in Bristol, on Sundays through Thursday during the month of November.
