Description
Need to rehome soon.
We have done what we can but he just is not comfortable around one of our children; it's causing anxiety for the child and the dog. We feel that he would be much better off in a home without kids. We will all be very sad to see him leave as he is otherwise a super gentle and loving dog. He has recently become more anxious around new people but quickly settles once we call him off. He is quite prey driven so sometimes plays hard with our outside cats but if they don't run, he doesn't chase.
He is fixed, microchipped and thoroughly house trained and kennel/crate trained. He doesn't chew on things that aren't his...generally very polite and content. He loves to play but does not require tons of exercise.
We got him as a 10-11 month old puppy; a few months later he started acting uneasy around some kids (we have a very impulsive and loud child). We and the behaviorist we worked with were not comfortable with the way this dog sometimes responds to kids... most of the time he's fine. We've been told training is not the issue; he is just not a great dog for families with kids.
Please reach out if you are interested and able to give him a new home; I will share more details and the rehoming fee.
He is around 50# but would still love to be a lapdog if we'd let him; seasonal shedding (little to none over winter!) We guess him to be a border collie/lab/beagle hound mix but aren't sure.
