JOLIET, IL — A number of bars in the Joliet area are staying open despite the rising number of coronavirus cases across Illinois. Some places insist they have to, otherwise they'll default on their rent payments and go out of business forever. In any event, downtown Joliet's indoor music hall, The Forge, has been bringing back live music concerts in recent days, and some of these acts have a big following.
On Friday night, The Forge will be hosting Hellbilly Deluxe, a Rob Zombie tribute band. Looking ahead, one of December's big acts features Smells Like Nirvana playing at The Forge on Dec. 19.
Smells Like Nirvana has 230,000 Facebook Likes. That's pretty impressive, and they're coming to downtown Joliet in less than a month. The band features front man Paul Wandtke (ex Trivium), bassist Mike Petrasek and Sean McCole on the drums.
Details on tickets are available at The Forge's website.
Guests must be 21 and older to see Smells Like Nirvana. The Dec. 19 concert starts at 8 p.m.
