JOLIET, IL —Two semi-trailers, two trucks and a car were involved a major wreck Friday morning along the westbound stretch of Interstate 80 in Joliet near Briggs Street, causing huge traffic backups for most of the day, police reported.
The wreck prompted the Illinois State Police to shutdown all westbound I-80 traffic at Briggs Street until Friday evening. One semi-trailer overturned and spilled a large amount of glue along the westbound lanes, the Illinois State Police announced on Friday afternoon.
As a result of the crash, Illinois State Police were shutting down all westbound I-80, diverting motorists to the Briggs Street exit.
