Description

Parrotlet pair for rehome. $420 for the pair. Cannot separate. We are looking for an experienced breeder who would like to take our pair. These parrotlets are very bonded. Not proven as female isn’t old enough but I don’t think they’ll have a problem and we think it’s best if they are allowed to breed as they continue to get hormonal despite our best efforts. Turqoise hen will be a year on June 30th, 2022 and Blue male will be 5 years in September. They are none related. Turqoise female parents were Turqoise pied hen and blue male. Both birds have been spoiled so want to make sure they go to a home with the same treatment. We’d keep them if we could. Male tries to pluck a bit when he wants to breed. We give him feather meds and distract him with toys, and move his cage etc when he gets like that. But clearly it’s best if we just let him breed at this point with a breeder. Both of them are very sweet with me especially if I take them and hold them one on one. Also if I clip their wings, they are much sweeter. They will sit on your shoulder etc. But when they are together, they get territorial (especially in their cages). The female tends to try and bite a little more in her cage or gives one or two warning bites then stops or nips very lightly. The male doesn’t really usually try to bite when I put my hands in his cage, only when he’s protecting her. He’s actually very sweet. I used the command “tickle tickle” to warn them before I touch. They also don’t usually try to bite if you allow them to step up and are wearing long sleeves.
