Description

If wiggles and tail wags were thank you’s, Olive would be saying thanks a million!! She is glad to be gaining her precious health, and as one of her favorite volunteers said, she is excited to be excited. Olive came to us in June, a perfect poster pup of shelter neediness, with a grapefruit size tumor hanging from her elbow, terrible skin, and of course, heartworm positive. The tumor came off straight away, and was thankfully benign, her skin is progressing beautifully and we are super excited to have been able to provide her with soft palate surgery. Her noisy breathing was just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the problems caused by restricted breathing and improper oxygen flow. It’s easy to take for granted the things we do automatically, like breathing, and to be able to help her breathe easy, means everything. Olive is thriving and excited (of course!) to be looking for her adoptive home, and she will wiggle her thanks to anyone who would like to help her!! For more information on our adoptions or to see Olive's webpage, visit http://www.PawsOfHertfordCounty.org. Our process: If you are interested in Olive or any of our adorable adoptables, please fill out an adoption application here: https://www.pawsofhertfordcounty.org/forms/. An adoption counselor will be in contact with you following the submission of your application. If approved, they will arrange a meet and greet at one of our monthly trips to Chesapeake or at our shelter. Visits to the shelter are by appointment only, as we are a volunteer-run rescue organization. All PAWS dogs are spayed/neutered, and current on the vaccinations appropriate for their age. Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm. All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee.
