Description
TOPANGA, CA — Forward progress has been stopped on the Valley Fire, a Topanga fire that impacted two structures, including an outbuilding, and spread to brush in the area of Valley Drive and Old Topanga Canyon Road, according to a Los Angeles County fire spokesman.
The extent of the impact is unknown.
The fire was reported at 12:44 p.m. Tuesday at the 1460 block of Old Topanga Canyon Road, according to LA County Fire spokeswoman Leslie Lua. The structure fire near downed power lines was spreading into the brush, and a 1st alarm brush assignment crew was originally en route.
The approximate acreage of the fire has not been released.
As of approximately 1 p.m, forward progress on the brush extension has been stopped, the open flames extinguished, and all aircraft, dozers, and crew canceled, according to LA County Fire.
