Description
MALIBU, CA — A fire damaged a two-story house in the Topanga area Tuesday and quickly spread to nearby brush, though no injuries have been reported.
The fire, called the "Peak Fire," was reported at 9:40 a.m. on the 23000 block of Saddle Peak Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Flames and smoke rose through the roof, but water drops from a helicopter and multiple hoses were able to put it out by just after 11 a.m. Deputies and firefighters remained at the scene for mop-up operations and to douse hot spots.
The total acreage of the fire is not yet available.
Some firefighters remained on scene dousing hot spots as of 11:30. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
