This class is perfect for all levels. Please wear comfortable warm clothing. All supplies provided. We live in a day and age where to-do lists have become longer, constantly being pulled to external needs, and where simply being is looked aside. Yoga Nidra is often called psychic sleep, or active sleeping. It is a practice where you are guided deep inside, while listening to the voice of the teacher. It is a practice to help ground during hectic times, clear brain fog, add in ridding of fatigue, and reduce stress. It is a deep relaxation technique; 60-90 minutes of practice is said to be equivalent to 4 hours of deep sleep! During these sessions, we will actively discuss and explore the importance of resting using science, yogic philosophy, and breathwork. This class is perfect for all levels. Please wear comfortable warm clothing, as during practice the body temperature can begin to drop. Yoga Instructor: SIKHONA BANKO From birth, Sikhona embodied an excitement of being alive, a presence of peace, and a spirit to serve. However, as she grew older, the essence of who she was began to diminish. Worldly standardization of sameness led her to bouts of depression, addiction, and self hate. She used anything around in order to not feel the suffering and hurt within. For the past 15 years, Sikhona has practiced many modalities of healing, helping her step more confidently in a space of purpose and sharing the gifts given to her. Her journey has led her to study with the mentors of Judith Hanson Laster (Restorative Yoga) as well as directly with Sri Dharma Mittra. Not only is Sikhona a RYT 500 yoga instructor, she is also an internationally trained chef, Reiki Master and Nutrition Coach. Utilizing all those tools, students describe Sikhona's teaching as "carrying a depth that drives you deeper into yourself."
