Need to get moving? Here is an 8 week program designed to get from being completely out of shape to being able to run 3 miles. Organized during Patty's running club, here is an opportunity to get in some cardio while our kids run around. Being personally adverse to exercise, I myself am quite out of shape and wanted to start this group to provide accountability to eachother in order to get motivated to take care of our health. A couch to 5k program typically runs for 8 weeks and requires 3 short workouts a week. It starts out very easy for everyone and increases slowly each week to gradually get back into shape. This is designed for people that are out of shape, not fit runners! We will meet each Thursday at 4, at the Sayville Middle School Track, as part of Patty's Running Club. There we will do the first workout for the week. We will each be responsible for doing the other two workouts on our own time. (The three workouts stay more or less the same). At the end of the program we will run a 5K in June. Any Moms or highschoolers can do this program. (But if you have a highschooler that can easily run a couple of miles, this is not a good program for them.) You need to be a member of the Running Club to participate.
